How to use it

  • Select a shape (slab, wall, footing, column).
  • Enter dimensions and quantity, then choose units.
  • Optionally add a waste percentage and price per yard/m³.
  • Review volume and bag/cost estimates.

Key formulas

Rectangular volume
V = L × W × D
Cylinder volume
V = π × r² × h
Cubic yards
yd³ = ft³ / 27

FAQ

Multiply length × width × thickness to get volume, then convert to cubic yards (ft³ ÷ 27) or cubic meters. Thickness is often entered in inches—convert inches to feet by dividing by 12.

Many people add 5–10% to cover waste, spillage, and uneven subgrade. For larger pours, confirm minimum order and overage policies with your supplier.

In the US, ready-mix is commonly sold by the cubic yard. Bagged concrete is sold by bag weight with an approximate yield per bag.

Bag estimates depend on the bag size and the manufacturer’s yield. Use your bag’s stated yield (ft³ per bag) and divide total volume by that yield for the most accurate estimate.
